BOOT UP: You can donate your old boots — or claim a pair — with the Football Rebooted scheme, run by energy company Utilita.
Through the campaign, co-founded by former England goalie David James, there are collection points all over the country. Find out how to claim boots at footballrebooted.co.uk.
DREAM TEAM: The charity Action For Sport was founded by two teachers who saw some children couldn’t take part in sport because of the cost of kit.
Now it works with schools to give out free boots and other items to those who need them most.

CLUB TOGETHER: Use the Grassboots app to swap, buy and sell sports kit.
The app helps sports clubs and schools set up their own online marketplace to sell pre-loved items.
It stops old kit ending up in the bin, and sellers can donate all or part of the sale price in order to support their local club or school.
BEST FOOD FORWARD: One Impossible Thing (1impossiblething.com) gives out sports shoes, boots and kit to young people, sports teams, schools and also holiday clubs.
As well as football boots, they have trainers, running shoes, tennis shoes, rugby boots and spikes.
They also provide walking boots and trainers for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.
PASS IT ON: The campaign group Green Football lists plenty of ways to pass kit on, from swapping items with teammates to dropping off used kits at its collection points at football clubs and local Salvation Army shops.
