FIA hardening results in China. Who was forced to make changes?

FIA confirmed that about half of the formula-1 teams were forced to make changes to the construction of their rear wings before the stage in China through updated technical requirements.

During the winter break, the FIA introduced harder tests of the rear wing, seeking to reduce its flexibility at high speeds. However, after inspections at the Australian Grand Prix, the Federation decided to further strengthen control before the stage in China. In particular, the permissible movement of the slit gap of the rear wing was additionally limited.

Restrictions are exacerbated in front of Japan

At the Shanghai stage, the teams were allowed a certain admission, but starting with the Grand Prix of Japan the maximum permissible deviation will be only 0.5 mm.

Nicolas Tombasis, Head of the Technical Department of the FIAS Nicolas Tombasis, had been forced to adapt their wings to new requirements.

Some teams were already in line with new tests in Australia, but four or five teams did not meet the standards, so they had to make adjustments. We checked them all before China Grand Prix,-said Tombasis.

According to sources, among these teams were Gangin and Haas.

Although this situation has become an important topic at the beginning of the season, Tombasis believes that the problem is solved.

I am sure – this is a strong word, but I hope that this time the measures taken will be enough, – he summed up.
