“The Spaniard is convinced and intends to fight for the first places in the near future”, — write: sport.ua
The Spaniard joined the Grove-based team at the start of the 2025 season after leaving Ferrari, where he was replaced by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
After a difficult start to the championship, Sainz gradually adapted to the team and ended the season with two podiums. In particular, he finished third at the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan and Qatar, and also took third place in the sprint in Austin.
Sainz is convinced that the results of the season have proved wrong the doubts about his transfer to Williams.
“This season is one to be proud of. When I moved to Williams at the end of last year, many questioned the decision.
There were questions about my future and the direction I had chosen. But after this year, it is obvious to everyone that I joined the project, which strives to return to victory.”
After the first podiums as part of the British team, Sainz is already looking ahead and setting himself a more ambitious goal.
“I got back on the podium faster than I expected – faster than others and even myself expected. Now the next goal is to fight for victories again. I am in the right place at the right time for this.
The only thing I ask the team is not to stop. I can see the potential, but in Formula 1, progress one year does not guarantee progress the next.
We need to stay hungry, disciplined and work even harder to take another step forward next season.”
