Expert: “Avoid collisions between Norris and Pastri will be almost impossible”

Former Formula-1 engineer, who worked in the team Jordan-Gary Anderson, shared his opinion on the internal dynamics in the McLaren team. In his opinion, the approach of the Papaya team is correct, but to avoid the collision between Oskar Piastri and Lando Norris will be almost impossible this season.

Despite the close fight on the track, Pastri has a noticeable advantage over Norris in most races of the season. However, when they compete directly, everything goes without contact – and the expert does not believe that such idyll will last a long time:

“Norris and Piastri still maintained correctness in their duels, but as history shows when the partners fight for the title, sooner or later there is a collision.

The incidents are inevitable, and I am sure that at some point in the season they will still face. It is impossible to travel close to each other all year and to prevent contacts.

In Mclarene, I think, Pastri feels more relaxed. It is very calm outside, but inside has the same “murderous instinct” that is needed in formula-1,-the expert said.

Norris, on the contrary, seems to be more nervous when something goes on plan. Due to minor mistakes, he sometimes loses not one position, but a few as it was, for example, in Miami in the fight against Verststapppen. ”
