DRUMBAEV: “The hardest part was playing against Amado Diallo”

Oleksandr Drambaev talked about the memorable moments of his career”, — write: sport.ua

In the youth national teams of Ukraine Oleksandr Drambaev played under the leadership of Ruslan Rotany. Now, led by this coach, “Olexandria” is on the second step of the UPL tournament table.

“What is the phenomenon of Ruslan Rotan? The phenomenon of this coach is that he sees his game. If you look at that season, everything was not going very well. Ruslan Rotan still wanted to play the football he sees. It’s hard work with the boys. They understood what he wanted. And so they show a good result, but the season is still very long, there will still be 13-14 games. A good team is not the one that wins in specific matches, but the one that lasts throughout the season. So there are still matches to watch.

Which of the former teammates in the youth teams of “Shakhtar” had great potential, but could not fully realize it? It is necessary to sit down and think. You can call a lot of guys, to be honest, Kostiantyn Gurov, Kholod. They can play at a better level in better teams. I can also single out Klym Pryhodko, who plays for “Left Bank”, he is very talented.

Evaluation of the performances of “Kryvbasi”? I don’t really like to rate my game, to be honest, but I can say that I always want to play much better. I will try to do it further, to please the fans with my game.

Who is the strongest opponent you have faced on the football field? The strongest I played against was probably Amad Diallo when we played in the U-19s in the Champions League against Atalanta. And who is the strongest player with whom you had the opportunity to play in the same team? Bondarenko, Kryskiv, Mudryk, Sudakov. In principle, as you can see and everyone can see, these are the guys who are showing big and good football.

Which modern player impresses? I really like Alphonso Davis. I think you can understand why. Because he played left back. And I liked how he did everything. His speed, his dribbling, his dedication. I think we are somewhat alike. It is clear that he is a much better football player, but I like him very much. I would like to be like him.

The most memorable moment in your career? This moment, I’ve probably already repeated it somewhere, it was when I got to Zült-Waregem in Belgium. This is my most memorable moment, a lot has changed since then, I am very glad that I was there and would like to return one day.

The most difficult moment was when we, as a team of FC Mariupol, were supposed to fly to Odesa from Turkey, 15-20 minutes before landing we were told that we were not flying anywhere because shelling had started. I didn’t return to Ukraine for a very long time after that, I’m the kind of person who really needs my family by my side and I was very worried about them, especially since my father was fighting since 2014. And when you see him, it causes a lot of joy. And now, when I returned to Ukraine, I had the opportunity to see my family as often as possible, I was able to calmly breathe in and breathe out that I can see my family. It was very hard for me when I was abroad and I didn’t have the opportunity to see my relatives.”

Earlier it was reported that Drambaev reacted to the rumors about the transfer to LNZ.
