At this stage, 12 teams will compete: 8 teams that have taken the last place in qualification at Eurobasket-2025, including the national team of Ukraine, as well as 4 winners of the first stage of pre-qualification.
Among the participants: Ukraine, Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Northern Macedonia, Denmark, Slovakia, Romania, Switzerland, Austria and Norway.
The teams will be divided into 4 groups of 3 teams. The main qualification of the World Cup will be reached by the two best teams from each quartet.
The sowing before the draw was formed according to the rating of the Fiba. Ukraine has got to the first basket with Croatia, Hungary and Bulgaria, so it will not play with these rivals at this stage.
Each team will hold two home and two field matches in the pre-qualification. According to preliminary data, the matches should be held on 2, 5, 9, 13, 16, 16 and August 20.
The first stage of the basic qualification will begin in November 2025. The winners of the press qualification will be joined by 24 participants of the Eurobasket-2025.
