“The Ukrainian biathlete spoke about the upcoming first stage of the CS”, — write: sport.ua
“Everyone is waiting for the season like some kind of holiday, they miss the races and are hungry for them. You want the season to start, you expect it with some nervousness, because you don’t know what to expect from yourself, your opponents, and who is ready. Usually, after the first races, this tension subsides a little, because you understand where you are and it becomes easier before the next starts.
In general, during the preparation, everything was successful – what was planned. Everything was done as planned, except for a few days. There were bad feelings in the body, literally a week before the stage, the training plan had to be changed. But overall, everything went well. I think that the planned volume of work for this period, which was – has been fulfilled. I think everything should be fine.
Starting in Shushen? Showed how much I lost. I was not in the full composition of the team, without full service, so the skiing was not at the level I would have liked, it was very different from other athletes. But for me at that time it was not the main thing, because it is only a control competition to feel the competitive rhythm and shooting with such strong opponents, and to feel what the competition is like.
What do I think about the track? It is quite difficult in Kontiolahti, there are quite steep and difficult climbs. There is the famous “Kontiolaht wall” – probably one of the most difficult climbs on all the routes that exist. Before the races, the track is more icy, probably it was sprinkled with something, and before that it was broken and wet. What it will be like at the races is unknown, but everyone is on equal terms and will try to adapt to what is on the track,” said Pidruchny.
We will remind that the national team of Ukraine announced the composition for the mixed relays of the first stage of the CS, but Dmytro did not make it to the composition.
