Former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder confirmed that he is in talks for a possible fight with WBC, WBA and IBF title holder Oleksandr Usyk. The American noted that discussions are ongoing between the teams of both boxers and will take time.
“You’re dealing with my team in America and his team where they’re based. Sometimes when everything happens remotely, it takes a little longer.
Negotiations take time, because he wants one thing, I want another, so we have to find a compromise to make the fight happen. He’s a champion and I have to be more lenient at times because of that opportunity. I’m very grateful for that and I don’t have any problems, so the negotiations are going very well, and we’ll see how it all ends,” the boxer added.
