But he ended a rift by being reunited with his son before the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium fight.
A fan who spotted the pair in hospital said: “Chris Sr looked like the doting Dad and was right by his son’s side, keeping an eye on him and medics and making sure he was OK.
“Although Chris Jr won the fight he seemed in a really bad way and was in an oxygen mask.
“It was great to see them together and so close after they had apparenlty had a feud, though.”
Eubank Jr’s team denied claims of a broken jaw and said the hospital visit was “standard post-fight protocol”.
Giving an update on Eubank Jr’s condition yesterday, his promoter Ben Shalom said he had not broken his jaw and was “currently resting”.
He explained: “There is no truth to the rumours regarding a broken jaw.
“As part of his standard post-fught protocol, Chris went to hospital for checks to monitor his vitals and ensure everything is in order.
“Chris and Conor gave absolutely everything.”
Conor Benn did attend the post-fight conference and said his defeat was a “hard one to swallow” – as a rematch loomed.
