The British Tennis Association (LTA) reported that Marray will visit Queen’s Club on June 9 – on the first day of the new WTA 500 tournament, which will be held on The andy murray arena.
The Scottish won the single title at the HSBC Championships tournament five times, and last in 2016. In 2019, he also won a paired trophy with Feliciano Lopez.
Marray first played in the main grid of the tournament in 2005 at the age of 18. He last performed here last season – before completing his career at the Olympic Games in Paris.
Eight different players in history won the Golden Double – won the Queen’s tournament and Wimbledon in one season. These include Marray himself (in 2013 and 2016), John Makinro (1981 and 1984), as well as the latest winner of Dublya – Carlos Alaras, who won his first title on the grass in Queen’s Club in 2023, and in the month became the Wimbldon champion.
In 2016, Marray became the first player to win five titles at the historic Queen’s tournament, ahead of this indicator of an elite tennis group, which includes John Macinroy, Lleton Guitt and Andy Rodik – each has four victories.
