Budkivskyi told about the vicissitudes of this match in an interview with Sport.ua.
– “Zorya” became the fifth team in a row that managed to take points away from the giants. Does this mean that the current “Dynamo” is no longer such a formidable opponent as before?
– “Dynamo” is “Dynamo”. This is our grand, the champion of last season, so we are always determined to fight to the last. We understood that now the people of Dynamo are having a bit of a hard time psychologically, and this can play into our hands.
– What did Viktor Skrypnyk focus on when setting the game?
– Anyway, we can play our football and get points. And he also said that Dynamo also has problems – they stop after a goal. We took advantage of that: we started to press harder and scored a goal in return.
– Usually, defenders play hard against you, and sometimes even brutally. The match with “Dynamo” is not an exception?
– Football is a very contact game, where there is a lot of fighting. The attacker has even more of it, so in some places it turns out to be cruel and harsh. But that’s normal, it’s football.
– You left the field with a broken lip. Who are you?
– Popov elbowed me at the corner near his own goal. But he did it unconsciously, so he came up and immediately apologized.
– During the game you had several opportunities to score, but only managed to convert one. Which of the unused moments was particularly unfortunate?
– Many of these moments were offside. However, no matter what, you still have to play to the end and realize all the moments, and only then watch the VAR episode. It is a pity, of course, that it was not possible to score. Still, there’s a lot to work on next week.
– In this match, your team was the nominal host, playing with “Dynamo” at its stadium. Once such a fact could be an exceptional precedent, but now – common occurrence.
– Now the situation in the country is such that we cannot play at home in front of our fans. So thank you to everyone who comes to the matches and supports us. Someone is watching and worried about “Zorya” – and we feel it, trying to show a good game on the football field and be happy with the results.
– Over the past four and a half years, you have regularly scored against Dynamo. This was the case during your performances in “Desna”, then in “Polyssa”, and now as part of “Zora”. Moreover, all matches without exception brought points to your teams. Did you pay attention to this interesting fact?
– It turned out that this happened more often. But this is football and we have to go out and win every match. And for me, as an attacker, to help the team with productive actions on the field.
– Viktor Skrypnyk spoke favorably of your role in the team several times in his interviews. Does this fact inspire or mobilize you?
– We have a good team, a good team. And despite the fact that there are many foreigners in its composition, they all even know what the fans call the team when it shows character. So, of course, that’s great to hear. So I thank the team and the coach for trusting me to wear the captain’s armband.
– Many of the forwards aim to win the title of the best scorer. Are you in this category?
– In my opinion, every striker wants to score in every match and set high goals for himself. I am no exception, so I will do everything in my power to achieve them. And we will watch at the end of the season.
– In the current championship, the standings are quite tight. Are you planning to intervene in the fight for medals, as was already the case in “Zora” under Viktor Skrypnik?
– If we show the character and the game that the team has, of course. At least we want to fight for the top places.
