22-year-old Norwegian biathlete Maren Kirkeide won the mass start stage in Annecy, France, her first World Cup triumph

After the fourth firing line, the athlete overtook the Frenchwoman Camilla Benet and broke away from the nearest pursuers, guaranteeing herself the first place on the podium.

Before that, Maren’s best result in a personal start was only second place: twice in Oberhof and once in Hochfilzen.

Note that the current year brought Maren high achievements at the World Cup: during 2025, the Norwegian repeatedly demonstrated the best results, updating her own records.

Kirkeide’s statistics at the World Cup: one win, eight second and four third places.
