Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Zahozhiy (19–0, 15 KOs) sensationally lost the title of European champion – he lost by unanimous decision to Labinot Jojai (19–0–1, 16 KOs, Kosovo).
BoxingScene criticized the fight of the Ukrainian:
“Dzhozhai was much shorter and had less weight, but he constantly chased the Ukrainian and landed a lot of blows. In this fight, Alexander looked like a debutant, not a champion. Zahozhiy showed a terrible defense and took all the blows on himself. The title of European champion has lost its value so much that this fight was like an ordinary fight in a bar,” the publication concluded.
It is interesting that Zahozhiy learned the opponent’s name within a few days of the fight. Experts believe that the Ukrainian boxer failed to prepare for a new opponent.
