Bakken’s family announced a burial date for Sievert and made a request

The family of the Norwegian Sievert Guttorm Bakken, who died on December 23, 2025 in an Italian hotel in Lavazza, announced the date and place of the biathlete’s burial.

Bakken’s body will be buried in his hometown of Lillehammer, at Nordre Aul Church.

A farewell ceremony for Sievert will begin on January 13 at 11:00 a.m.

The only request of Bakken’s relatives and friends before the burial was the absence of cameras, paparazzi and journalists at the ceremony.

“The family understands that the public may be interested in the funeral, but asks the press to stay away. They don’t want the presence of journalists in the church during the ceremony,” Elden law firm.

We will remind that Sievert was found dead with a training mask on his face. The Italian authorities are investigating the case, the results of the examination should be published by March 7.
