Chelsea face same Salah mistakeMohamed Salah’s dismissal from Chelsea and Jose Mourinho has been a dark shadow looming over the club for almost a decade now.
Ever since his departure from Stamford Bridge in 2016, Salah, 33, has fired Liverpool to two Premier League titles as well as Champions League glory – picking up numerous individual awards in the process.
Meanwhile, the Blues’ fans have watched the likes of Willian, Juan Cuadrado and Hakim Ziyech take up the Egypt international’s role at Stamford Bridge with mixed results.
Thankfully at least, Chelsea learnt from their mistakes and haven’t been truly bitten in the same manner for a while now.

Keown on GyokeresArsenal legend Martin Keown has given his seal of approval on the Gunners’ pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres. There’s not a lot wrong with the squad but they needed to add in certain specific positions.
You know that a centre-forward, they’ve been crying out for a centre-forward due to the injuries they’ve had.
This guy [Gyokeres] is rock solid. You can play the ball into him, he holds it up well, he has pace, power.
I think he’s quite emphatic in front of goal and I think he is just what Arsenal need. He just needs now to do his talking on the pitch.

According to Record, Fenerbahce could sweep in for Gyokeres if the Gunners fail to land him.

The Turkish giants could pull the same manoeuvre rivals Galatasaray did a year ago with Napoli star Victor Osimhen, who found a way out late in the transfer market.
-

Gyokeres’ ‘Plan B’Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres will consider a worst-case-scenario loan move should his dream Arsenal switch fall through.
SunSport understand Gyokeres has been encouraged by recent negotiations despite Sporting sticking to their £68.9million evaluation.
The Gunners remain locked in talks with the Portuguese champions, with SunSport revealing the North Londoners are currently £4.3m away from the asking price of £60.3m up front and £8.6m in add-ons following face-to-face meetings in Lisbon.
Personal terms are already in place on a five-year contract, with the add-ons in the deal relating to goal and trophy bonuses.
The Sweden international, alongside agent Hasan Cetinkaya, is quietly confident he will be an Arsenal player in the coming weeks, with manager Mikel Arteta keen to include him on their pre-season tour of Singapore and Hong Kong from July 19 to August 2.
But SunSport understand the 27-year-old has a “Plan B” should he not make the Emirates switch – waiting until the end of the summer window and going out on loan to a European club.
-
Eberechi Eze EXCLUSIVEArsenal are open to including a player in their offer for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
SunSport exclusively reported that Arsenal chief Andrea Berta had held talks with the player’s representative as they look to beat Tottenham to his signature.
Eze, who turned 27 last week, is open to the move and has been training to stay fit in anticipation, but Palace are determined to extract the full £68million from his release clause.
While the player being considered as a makeweight in the deal is not known, SunSport understand he is an emerging star who’s played a handful of games for the first team.

Noni Madueke EXCLUSIVEIn one of the most important transfer windows in Mikel Arteta’s tenure, the pursuit of Chelsea’s £55million-rated Noni Madueke has divided the Arsenal fanbase.
So much so that since the news of the Gunners’ formal approach, over 1,000 Arsenal supporters so far have signed a petition urging the club not to sign him.
But the numbers show that there is method behind the supposed madness, with Arteta targeting a player who may well give his squad something they have been missing during three successive second-place Prem finishes.
As well as a world class No.9 – with Viktor Gyokeres’ arrival in the works – the Gunners have been in desperate need of competition in the wide areas alongside the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
It is why Raheem Sterling was brought in on a last-ditch Deadline Day loan last summer, and highlighted further during Saka’s three month absence last term following hamstring surgery.
Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo have been monitored during this window, only for negotiations to break down over the past few weeks, while Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze – with a £68m release clause – and Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman remain ongoing targets.
So, it begs the question: Why does Arteta want him?
The answer appears to lie in the England international’s bravery on the ball from wide positions, something Arsenal struggled with last year, especially on the left through Martinelli and Trossard.
Having netted 91 Prem goals in 2023/24, they scored 22 fewer last term.

Arsenal’s new ‘duel monster’In Christian Norgaard, Arsenal have landed themselves yet another “duel monster”.
The Brentford midfielder, 31, has completed his summer switch to the Gunners for £15million, including add-ons, on a two-year deal with the option of a further 12 months.
Among other areas, the midfield is one that boss Mikel Arteta was desperate to bolster following the free-agent departures of Thomas Partey and Jorginho.
Arteta has done just that – complimenting the £51m signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad with the arrival of experienced anchor Norgaard from the Bees.
Not only does Norgaard provide guaranteed Prem quality, the 6ft1 Dane also adds height, power and aerial supremacy to a squad of physical giants who have dominated set-pieces in the top flight over the past few seasons.
When Arteta signed 6ft2 Mikel Merino from Sociedad last summer for £31.6m, the Spaniard came with the reputation of a “duel monster” – winning more duels than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues.
In his first game in charge in December 2019, more than half of Arteta’s starting XI were under six feet tall.
Now, with Norgaard, they could boast an XI with NINE players who are six feet or taller.
-
Noni Madueke latestArsenal continue to monitor Chelsea ace Noni Madueke during the summer transfer window.
SunSport understand the Gunners have begun conversations with their London rivals to discuss a potential fee for Madueke.
The North Londoners have already agreed personal terms with the winger over a five-year deal.
Reports elsewhere have suggested Arsenal and the Blues have a gap between their valuations of the England international, with the West Londoners wanting close to £55million for the 23-year-old.
-
Viktor Gyokeres blowArsenal have received a major transfer blow in their bid to sign priority target Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon.
Reports from Portugal state the Gunners’ deal for Gyokeres is on the verge of COLLAPSING!
Sporting are reportedly not budging on their demands for the striker.
And it could see the North Londoners miss out on the Sweden international.
