On the eve of this confrontation, the Ukrainian boxer shared the idea of the Russian-Ukrainian war and possible options for its completion:
– I am very happy to represent Ukraine and not only in sports. We now have problems because the Russian army has occupied part of the country. Our people are very friendly, but if you came to our territory – we are fighting the whole country. I thank the Lord for being born in Ukraine. This is a great opportunity for me.
– It is suggested that the war can be finished if Ukraine gives part of the territories to the Russians. Can you imagine?
– I am not a politician and do not want to be. However, there are many controversial situations in the world. Then let those who have controversial situations take away some lands. In this case, the world will cover complete chaos. We have rules established by international conventions, so they cannot be violated. You can’t just come and take away another’s piece of earth, – says Usik.
