A major update to CS2. Anubis change, new skins and more

Valve released a new update for Counter-Strike 2 that marked the start of the fourth Premier season and made several changes to the Anubis map.

The orientation of the doors on the middle has been reversed, and the descent into the canals from the bridge is now directly in front of them.

Added a grenade opening to the top of the E-box at point B, and point A has also received adjustments: the crates have been moved to the stairs to provide more cover for defenders (CT).

The MP7 and MP5-SD also received increased damage, reduced damage drop range, and a $100 price drop (from $1,500 to $1,400). The price of the PP-Bizon has also been reduced by $100.

Adjusted jump mechanics: Landing times are now calculated using the subtick system. Jumps and landings no longer use stamina, instead the landing speed penalty is now a simple function of landing time. This will change the bunnyhop execution technique.

Also reduced audio latency, added several new skins, and improved the visual quality of various weapons.

PREMIER

  • The fourth season of the Premier has started.
  • The Anubis map has been added to the Active Duty Map Pool.
  • The Train card has been removed from the active card pool.

COMPETITIVE MODE

Reset existing ranks (Skill Groups) for each map in competitive mode. They will be displayed again after the player has won the required number of wins.

GAMEPLAY

  • Minor changes for MP7 and MP5-SD:
  • Slightly increased damage.
  • Slightly reduced damage drop with distance.
  • Reduced the price by $100.
  • Reduced the price of PP-Bizon by $100.

Changes to jumping mechanics:

  • Landing time is now calculated with subtick precision.
  • Jumping and landing no longer affect stamina. The landing speed penalty is now a simple function of landing time.
  • Any hop in the sv_bhop_time_window around the time of landing that was not penalized by sv_jump_spam_penalty_time will be considered a successful bunnyhop.
  • Classic jumping behavior can be restored on private servers with the sv_legacy_jump command.
  • Map guides can now be loaded in casual and retakes online games (via the ESC menu).

SOUND

  • Reduced delay of sound output (audio latency).
  • Improved the quality of sounds of grabbing and inspecting the knife.
  • Weapon, knife, and grenade grab sounds no longer overlap when quickly switching between them.
  • Knife strike sounds are now unique based on primary or alternate attack, and front or rear attack. This reflects the different amount of damage from each attack.
  • Background sounds no longer restart from the beginning when switching between zones.

WEEKLY CARE PACKAGE

  • Added two new weapon collections to the drop list: Harlequin and Achroma.
  • Removed four weapon collections from the drop list: Safehouse, Dust 2, 2018 Nuke Collection, and 2018 Inferno Collection.

ARMORY

  • Added new limited edition item: AK47 | Aphrodite.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Improved texture quality on some basic weapons.
  • Changed the behavior of the voice chat indicator: now always shows the player’s microphone if it is open.
  • Fixed a bug related to crossing during Deathcam.
  • Fixed some cases where the player would collide with the inner edges while surfing the ramp.
  • Improved PVS resolution for some static level geometry.
  • Fixed small drops in butterfly knife animations.
  • Fixed a case where traces of blood did not appear.

MAP SCRIPTING

  • Fixed a bug where the activator was sometimes incorrect for OnOpen, OnFullyOpen, OnClose and OnFullyClosed exits in func_door.
  • Added new script methods.

CARDS

  • Removed community maps: Golden, Palacio, Agency and Rooftop from all game modes.
  • Added Warden, Stronghold, and Alpine community maps to Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch modes.
  • Added Sanctum and Poseidon community maps to Wingman mode.

Anubis

  • Bridge drop moved closer to Mid Doors.
  • The orientation of the door on the copper has been changed to the opposite.
  • Added a hole between the E-box and the back of the B point.
  • The crates at point A have been moved up the stairs to the Walkway.
  • Scaffolding has been added to the column at point A.
