Title fight 2024 World Chess Champion ongoing in Singapore.

On December 4, Ding Lizhen from China (white pieces) and Hukesh Dommaraju from India (black pieces) played an interesting 8th game of the match.

The rivals exchanged mistakes, and the spectators watched a cascade of missed chances. First, Dean gave away the initiative with the move 22.Rb1? Hukesh soon missed a chance to win by choosing 26…Nac5 instead of 26…Ndc5. After another mistake by the Indian GM (28. Be6?), his position became much worse, but Dean failed to realize the extra quality.

A draw was recorded on the 51st move. The score in the match remains equal (4:4). Opponents won one each, and six games ended in a draw.

The 9th batch will be held on December 5. The match consists of 14 classic games and will last until December 12. In case of a tie, a tie-break with reduced time control is scheduled for December 13. The prize fund of the match is 2.5 million dollars.
