Odessa A’zion has exited the A24 film ‘Deep Cuts’ following online backlash to her casting. A’zion took to her Instagram Story to tell her fans and followers that she took their comments and concerns about whitewashing the adaptation of the novel of the same name seriously. The actress was poised to play a character named Zoe Gutierrez, who is described in the book as half Mexican and half Jewish. A’zion wrote, “Guys!! I am with ALL of you and I am NOT doing this movie. F*** that. I’m OUT.”
