John Amos, the TV writer turned Emmy-nominated actor known for playing the father on ‘Good Times,’ has died. He was 84. Amos’ son K.C. Amos announced on Tuesday, October 1st that his father died August 21st in Los Angeles of natural causes. He said in a statement, in part, “He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold…and he was loved the world over. Many fans consider him their TV father. He lived a good life. His legacy will live on in his outstanding works in television and film as an actor.”
