A press conference will be held Dec. 17 with an update on the arrest of Luigi Mangione, the Ivy League graduate suspected of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Mangione has been charged with one count of murder, three counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of possession of a forged instrument in New York. He also faces charges in Pennsylvania—he was arrested at a McDonald’s in Altoona—including forgery, carrying a firearm without a license as well as three misdemeanors for tampering with records or identification, possessing instruments of crime and providing false identification to law enforcement. His lawyer Thomas Dickey said Mangione would plead not guilty to the Pennsylvania charges—and the defense attorney advised his client do the same for the New York charges.
