Zelenskyi on Trump’s inauguration: now “there is a good chance” to achieve security in Europe

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with the Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania Saulius Skvernialis during his visit to Kyiv – he announced this in his evening address on January 20.

According to Zelenskyi, the parties talked about further cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania.

“I am grateful for the support of all Lithuanians, all our friends, I want to thank Gitanas – the president of Lithuania. And I am sure: right now it is exactly the kind of unity that exists between our countries – between Ukraine and Lithuania – that our whole Europe needs so that we can achieve security for ourselves, for everyone in Europe,” he said.

According to the president, “now is a good chance for that,” which he considers the inauguration of the 47th president of the United States, Donald Trump:

“He is a strong person. I wish President Trump and all of America the best of luck. Ukrainians are ready to work together with the Americans to achieve peace, real peace. This is a chance that should be taken.”

On January 20, Donald Trump officially became the 47th president of the United States. The inauguration ceremony took place at noon in the Capitol Rotunda.

During his inauguration speech, the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, said that he wants to be a peacemaker and measure the strength of the United States in wars that have ended. He did not directly mention Russia’s war against Ukraine, but he did mention the release of hostages in Israel.
