The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with the Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson at the meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos – the parties announced this on January 22.

According to Zelenskyi, the politicians “discussed the continuation of aid to our state.”

“We appreciate everything that Sweden has already done to support Ukraine, in particular strengthening our air defense, investments in defense production,” he said.

The President called for further strengthening of Ukraine’s position in order to ensure a just and lasting peace for Europe.

Kristersson, commenting on the conversation, said that security and justice can be achieved “only with unity and determination”.

“Ukraine and Sweden firmly believe in this and consistently work together to restore a just and lasting peace in our Europe,” added the Prime Minister of Sweden.

Davos, Switzerland, is the traditional venue for the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. The war that Russia is waging against Ukraine is one of the topics of discussion among leading politicians, businessmen and public figures from many countries of the world. The annual meeting in Davos is the first global event of this level since the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, who promised to make efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian war.
