The president assured that elections in Ukraine can be held only after the end of the hot phase of the war.
In an interview with TSN, he stated that he is currently not ready to give an unequivocal answer as to whether he will run for president again.
“I don’t know how the war will end. If I do more than I can, then I will probably look at this decision more positively. This is not a goal for me today,” Zelensky said.
The president assured that elections in Ukraine can be held only after the end of the hot phase of the war.
“Not only that, when the term of the current president ends, the president fulfills his duties only until a new president is elected… Both the president and the parliament are legitimate authorities until a new president appears,” he said.
The possibility of holding elections in UkraineEarlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that no one in the world demanded and does not demand Ukraine to hold elections during the war. According to him, there are some people in Ukraine who want to fight within our state more than for its sake.
Elections will be held in Ukraine immediately after the end of the war, because it is important that military personnel and people who have gone abroad have the opportunity to vote. This was stated by the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak.
