Zelensky told what directions left without US funding

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard the original report on the programs funded by American support and now stopped. He reported this in January 29, noting that the report had presented the reports of community development Alexei Kuleb and the deputy head of the Presidential Office Viktor Nikita.

“Some key things I have already instructed to do for our internal funds, as well as to speak with Europeans. Energy – there were programs for distributed generation, other sustainability programs for Ukrainian communities, for cities and villages, ”Zelensky said.

He called the veteran projects in the regions in the second direction: “Veterans’ hubs, support lines, assistance in creating their own businesses by veterans.”

In addition, in cooperation with partners, modern border crossing points were built, Zelensky said:

“In particular, these are portions in ports. Real – economic security. We will look for this more internal resource. There are some issues on the line of the Ministry of Health, also in the field of cybersecurity. We do all this. ”

He added that he instructed to continue the audit of suspended areas of assistance from the United States. The Head of State expressed that Ukraine and its partners in Europe should be the most active in humanitarian, security and social directions, “that we have supported people now as long as the new American policy is being developed.”

The day before, Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the government to report programs that were put on a pause due to a stop of USAID’s activities.

On January 20, US President Donald Trump banned the USAID Agency (USAID) for 90 days to assist other countries – until the program is checked for compliance with US foreign policy. On January 24, the US State Department suspended the work of all foreign aid programs by making an exception to Israeli and Egypt’s military assistance. After the decision of the State Department, many organizations that depend on the US assistance have decided to stop work.

On January 29, it became known that the US State Department decided to temporarily continue the financing of some humanitarian programs that “save life”.
