According to him, at the same time Herman Smetanin, who was headed by the Ministry of Strategic Industry of Ukraine, will now head Ukroboronprom. The President said that legal procedures have already begun to update the government.
“In the morning, we held a meeting with Denis Shmigal on defense issues – very focused – together with Rustem Umerov and Herman Smetanin. We have agreed on new approaches to the management of the defense.
In addition, as the President said, the Ministry of Defense will audit all agreements with international partners.
“It is also supply to assistance programs, it is also investment in our Ukrainian weapons production, all our joint projects. We are accelerating everything as possible,” Zelensky added.
The head of state noted that he had already signed documents to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Denis Shmigal as a new Minister of Defense.
“Strategic industries will also be managed through the Ministry of Defense. Herman Smetanin will head Ukroboronprom,” Zelensky stressed.
He added that the task is very specific, clear.
“Now Ukrainian weapons on the front, in all our operations-about 40 %. It is much more Ukrainian production of weapons than ever during the independence of our country. The volumes are really large.
