The funds will be displaced for storage from the Savings Bank to the Pension Fund.
As of October 1, 2023, more than UAH 10 billion pensions were accumulated in Savings Bank / photos of pensions / photoPensions of people who have not left the temporarily occupied territories of Lugansk and Donetsk regions and have not removed the pension for more than a year will be stored in their accounts in the Pension Fund.
According to the Ministry of Social Policy, pensioners residing in the territory uncontrolled by the state continue to receive their pension, subject to the passage of physical (in particular, video) identification in the Pension Fund.
“At the same time, the Pension Fund for a long time (from one year to sometimes 5-7 years) cannot contact some pensioners. These people also do not use money from their pension cards for a long time (for at least a year). Because of this, their pension funds are accumulated in the Savings Bank,” the department said.
It is reported that as of October 1, 2023, more than 10 billion hryvnias of pensions of Ukrainian pensioners from the temporarily occupied territories of Lugansk and Donetsk regions (which were occupied before a full -scale invasion in 2022) were accumulated. There were no connections with these pensioners, they did not use their accounts and did not interact with the Ukrainian Bank.
According to the Law on the State Budget for 2025, the funds that have been postponed to pay such pensions will now be stored not in Oschadbank, but directly at the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
“So, if the owners of these funds are alive or they have legal heirs (relatives who have the right to inherit this money), the right to receive these payments is fully maintained after them. Only the place where this money will be stored: instead of the state” Savings Bank “they will be in the Pension Fund of Ukraine.”
In this case, this rule applies solely to the funds of those pensioners who meet all the following parameters at the same time:
- There are IDPs from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk regions (or before IDPs from the territories of Donetsk, Luhansk regions, occupied until 24.02.2022);
- received a pension as IDPs to a full -scale invasion;
- They did not use the pension account (card) for more than 1 year or did not pass physical identification in Savings Bank within 6 months from the date when it was to be done.
