Zelensky said that in the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he had a telephone conversation with Lukashenka, who “apologized for launching missiles from the territory of Belarus.”
“He said that ‘it wasn’t me, it was Putin who launched the rockets from my territory.’ These are his words, I have witnesses. He apologized, he said: “Believe Volodya, it’s not me, I told him, no need, it was without me,” Zelenskyy explained.
The President of Ukraine emphasized that he responded to Lukashenka, calling him “the same murderer as Putin.”
Lukashenko, in turn, declared that “it is impossible to fight with the Russians” and even offered to attack the oil refinery, which, according to him, “means a lot to him”, the president of Ukraine said.
“Understand, you can’t fight with the Russians.” I tell him, how did you allow it? He says: “Well, hit the refinery, you know how much it means to me.” I said to him: “What are you talking about?” – said the President of Ukraine.
Lukashenko supports Russia’s actions in the war against Ukraine. He provided the territory of his country for the placement of Russian troops, who use it as a “springboard for attacks on Ukraine.”
Saam Lukashenko repeatedly declared his “solidarity” with Moscow, calling the war a “special military operation” and justifying Russia’s aggression.
Earlier, Oleksandr Lukashenko appealed to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, with a request to place the Russian Oreshnik system on the territory of the country. Putin replied that he “considers it possible to deploy Oreshnik on the territory of Belarus in the second half of 2025.”
