Subsequently, the Pentagon specified that the decree did not affect the programs of armed assistance to Ukraine.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio sent a message to the US Embassy around the world, which explains the implementation of the decree signed by Trump on January 20, which states that “no further foreign aid should be provided in the way that does not fully correspond to the presidential foreign policy United States. ”
Trump’s decree states that the current US foreign aid “does not meet US interests and in many cases contradicts US values.”
Trump’s decree calls on 90-day pause in providing foreign non-military assistance to “develop efficiency assessment” and “consistency with the United States Foreign Policy”.
