The US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Ukraine has ordered to suspend all the projects and expenditures on them, reported on January 26, “Public” with reference to an unnamed USAID office in Kiev.

According to him, detailed instructions have not yet received office staff. Officially, the situation was not commented on the USAID.

The message appeared after the US State Department has ordered the freezing new financing of almost all US external assistance programs in the framework of President Donald Trump’s desire to “bring these programs in line with its foreign policy purposes.”

On January 20, Trump signed a decree on a temporary pause to US external assistance to other countries for 90 days to evaluate the efficiency and consistency of relevant programs with US foreign policy.

Subsequently, the Pentagon specified that the decree did not affect the programs of armed assistance to Ukraine.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio sent a message to the US Embassy around the world, which explains the implementation of the decree signed by Trump on January 20, which states that “no further foreign aid should be provided in the way that does not fully correspond to the presidential foreign policy United States. ”

Trump’s decree states that the current US foreign aid “does not meet US interests and in many cases contradicts US values.”

Trump’s decree calls on 90-day pause in providing foreign non-military assistance to “develop efficiency assessment” and “consistency with the United States Foreign Policy”.

In addition to the military, Ukraine received significant non -military assistance with the United States. According to the official website, since the start of the Full -Bank War, the USAID International Development (USAID) has provided $ 2.6 billion in humanitarian aid, $ 5 billion in development and more than $ 30 billion in direct budget support.

As the US Government Accounting Report reports, the US Office Direct budget financing of the Government of Ukraine was gone through USAID to compensate the Government of salaries of teachers, civil servants and health care workers.
