Swiss President shared details about her meeting with the US Finance Minister.

According to her, Switzerland is one of the countries with which US President Donald Trump’s administration seeks to conclude a new trade agreement.
“The US is planning to hold – I would say privileged negotiations and find a solution,” Keller Zutter said in an interview with SRF.
She added that she was “satisfied” of the discussion that took place in Washington with US Finance Minister Scott Bessent, as well as participation in meetings of the International Monetary Fund.
The Swiss leader also noted that the US and Switzerland have agreed to prepare a “letter of intentions”, which would outline the most important topics for further discussion.
“We have also been assigned a specific contact person. We discussed key economic issues and opportunities to expand cooperation between our two countries,” she said.
Trump’s duty and trade talksAccording to UNIAN, US President Donald Trump announced a “pause” on a duties on April 9. He reported that US customs tariffs for all countries except China will be temporarily reduced to 10%.
According to Reuters, Trump wants to enter into 90 trade transactions during this “pause”. Experts have expressed doubts about this.
At the same time, US Finance Minister Scott Bessent said more than 50 countries are ready to talk about new customs tariffs with Washington.
