The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga announced this in his Facebook, informing the results of the Ukrainian delegation within the framework of the autumn session of the UN General Assembly.
In particular, he said that yesterday, the last day of the General Assembly, it ended with an important transatlantic meeting of all NATO and Ukraine allies at the invitation of US Secretary of State. This meeting discussed further steps to strengthen Ukraine and increase pressure on the Russian Federation.
After the meeting, according to Sibiga, he had the opportunity to communicate with Rubio personally and discuss the embodiment of the arrangements of the Presidents of the two countries. During the conversation, according to the Minister, he invited a colleague to visit Ukraine at a convenient time.
“I am grateful that this invitation was accepted,” Sibiga said.
According to the minister, yesterday “really gave the feeling that we are not alone.”
“A day that confirmed that the truth is on our side. Tomorrow we will continue work for specific results for Ukraine,” Sibiga wrote.
UN General Assembly: The latest newsAccording to UNIAN, the 80th session of the UN General Assembly started on September 23 in New York. It was attended by about one hundred presidents and more than 40 prime ministers from all over the world.
The President of the United States of America Donald Trump in the fields of the Assembly has stated for the first time that Ukraine could win the war started by Russia. He also said that he did not expect the issue of the end of the war against Ukraine would be so difficult.
Trump stated that if Russia did not conclude a peace agreement with Ukraine and end the war, the United States is ready to impose huge duties, which, he said, would contribute to the emergence of ceasefire agreements. Trump also accused the UN of inactivity.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said during a meeting of the UN Security Council that the war in Ukraine “cannot end with a military way” and eventually should end at the negotiating table.
On September 24, Rubio met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the fields of the 80th UN General. The US State Department reported that Rubio repeated the call of the US President to stop murder and that the Russian Federation should take serious measures for long -term “settlement” of war.
