“It is very difficult to enter into an economic agreement with a leader who does not want to conclude a peace agreement,” Bessent said.
The publication reminded that during a meeting with US President Donald Trump, Zelensky argued that the mineral agreement was insufficient to contain further Russian aggression.

According to the publication, the proposal in the agreement provides for the distribution of income from future production of state minerals and energy resources, such as gas, as well as from terminals and port infrastructure. This will apply to new projects, not existing, and may require significant investments in the mines, as well as any processing capacity.
