Marchenko stressed that assistance to the Ukrainian army will protect the EU countries from potential Russian aggression.
“What we offer: partners’ participation in financing the Ukrainian Armed Forces and, accordingly, the integration of the Ukrainian army into the defense system of Europe. The costs of providing the Ukrainian armed forces for Europe’s security will be a small share of EU GDP. It can be distributed between countries that are ready to join the initiative, and the deposit.
Marchenko noted that building its own armies will need not only significant resources from European countries, but also for a long time. Therefore, the rate on the Ukrainian army, he said, “has economic benefits” for partner countries.
“Increasing defense capability is not a political choice, but an urgent need. It is necessary to act today to be strong in the future,” Marchenko added.
