Ukraine is anticipating new military assistance packages, which will prominently feature missiles for air defense systems capable of intercepting ballistic targets. This development follows discussions at the Munich Security Conference, where air defense emerged as a critical topic among Western leaders.
President Volodymyr Zelensky summarized the outcomes of his participation in the conference, emphasizing that discussions with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio focused on the urgent need for enhanced air defense capabilities. “The most important aspect is the forthcoming support packages for Ukraine, particularly missiles for air defense to protect against ballistic threats. This has been our top priority throughout this winter,” Zelensky stated.
The President expressed hope for the swift implementation of agreements made during the conference, noting that strengthening air defense is a “daily necessity” for Ukraine.
In addition to military aid, Ukrainian authorities are actively seeking resources to stabilize the energy sector. Upcoming meetings are scheduled for next week to discuss new “energy packages,” which will include essential equipment for repairs.
“This pertains to recovery efforts following attacks and the necessary equipment for restoration. I want to thank everyone who is already providing assistance,” the President added.
