Ukraine anticipates a visit from U.S. Special Representative Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of former President Donald Trump, later this month for negotiations. Their arrival is expected to take place after Easter.
The head of Ukraine’s Office of the President indicated that Republican Senator Lindsey Graham might also be part of the delegation. “We expect Kushner, Witkoff, and Lindsey Graham. Who else will join is yet to be seen,” he stated, as reported by Bloomberg.
While both Witkoff and Kushner have previously visited Russia for discussions with President Vladimir Putin, this will mark their inaugural trip to Ukraine.
As of now, U.S. officials have not confirmed the delegation’s visit to Kyiv. An unnamed American official mentioned that the matter is under discussion, but no final decision has been made regarding the officials’ trip.
During the negotiations, Ukraine aims to secure clear assurances about the nature of security guarantees that the U.S. is willing to provide to prevent further Russian aggression as part of any peace agreement with Moscow.
Ukraine is preparing for a significant visit from U.S. representatives, including Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, aimed at discussing security guarantees amid ongoing tensions with Russia. The trip, expected after Easter, highlights Ukraine's urgent need for clarity on U.S. support against potential aggression.
