“Finally a breakthrough. There is a decision on the first exhumations of Polish victims of the UPA. I would like to thank the Ministers of Culture of Poland and Ukraine for fruitful cooperation. We are waiting for further decisions,” he wrote on Kh.’s social network.

In November of last year, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Poland Andrii Sybiga and Radoslav Sikorsky made a joint statement, in which, in particular, it is said that Ukraine will not prevent the Polish side from conducting search and exhumation works on Ukrainian territory, in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, and will positively consider applications on these issues. We are talking about the victims of the Volyn tragedy of 1942-1944, when violence broke out during the Nazi occupation, which culminated in the mass murder of Poles in the summer of 1943.
