This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in an interview with Anadolu. He noted that US President Donald Trump looks decisive in the issue of war in Ukraine. At the same time, Fidan recalled that during the election campaign, Trump made a loud statement as if he would finish the war in Ukraine immediately, but then revised the statement.

“In the near future, we will be able to see some initiatives,” the minister said. But, he said, in order for the meeting of Trump and Putin to be prepared, first of all, there should be an exchange of views of the participants in the process to make it reliable. Otherwise, according to Fidan, nothing will work out of these negotiations.

“We hear a number of US President Donald Trump’s initiatives on this.

“We will see clearer initiatives for negotiations by the summer,” the Turkish minister summed up.

We are doing very good negotiations, and I think it will work out. I think something will be, I hope, I hope,” Trump said. He did not give more specific details of these dialogues and did not answer the question whether he would require the Kremlin to leave Ukraine.
