Turkish law enforcement officers accuse the leadership of Israel of war crimes.
Benjamin Netanyahu is now officially wanted in Turkey / photo REUTERSThe Istanbul General Prosecutor’s Office has issued arrest warrants for 37 Israeli high-ranking officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on charges of “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” committed in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the Turkish state agency “Anadolu”.
As the prosecutor’s office told journalists, arrest warrants were issued in particular for the following officials of the State of Israel:
- Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu;
- Defense Minister Israel Katz;
- Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir;
- Chief of the General Staff of the IDF, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir;
- Commander of the Naval Forces Vice Admiral David Saar Salama and others.
There has been no official reaction of Israel to this decision yet.
Order for the arrest of Netanyahu from the ICCAs UNIAN wrote, in November of last year, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a number of other high-ranking Israeli officials.
The warrants were issued for “crimes against humanity and war crimes” committed during the military operation in Gaza in 2023-24. The ICC believes that Netanyahu and others orchestrated the attack on the Palestinian civilian population.
