US President-elect Donald Trump announced that he will discuss ways to end the war in Ukraine with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

At the press conference, Trump said he had seen horrific photos of the death and destruction from the war and that “it has to stop.”

“We are trying to put an end to this. But we will see. We will talk with President Putin and Zelenskyi, representatives of Ukraine. We have to stop this. This is a bloody massacre,” he said.

At the same time, Trump announced the “small progress” that was achieved in ending the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine.

On December 7, Donald Trump met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the President of France Emmanuel Macron in Paris. Commenting on this meeting, Trump emphasized the need to end the war as soon as possible, and Zelenskyi spoke of “peace through strength.”

“This (war) cannot be ended simply with a piece of paper and a few signatures. And the suspended fire without guarantees can be rekindled at any moment, as Putin has already done. In order to guarantee that there will be no more losses of Ukrainian men and women, it is necessary to guarantee the reliability of peace and not to turn a blind eye to the occupation,” said the President of Ukraine.
