In a recent meeting, U.S. President Donald Trump convened leaders from major American defense companies to discuss a significant increase in the production of advanced weaponry. The discussions centered on current manufacturing schedules and plans to ramp up output dramatically.
Attendees included CEOs from prominent firms such as BAE Systems, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, L3Harris Missile Solutions, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. Following the meeting, these executives agreed to quadruple the production of high-class weaponry.
“They agreed to increase the production of high-class weapons fourfold, as we want to reach maximum production levels as quickly as possible,” Trump stated.
Trump noted that the expansion of production had already begun three months prior to the meeting, with the construction of factories and the manufacturing of various weapons already underway.
He emphasized that the U.S. has a “virtually unlimited supply of medium and upper-medium caliber ammunition,” which has been utilized in conflicts such as in Iran and more recently in Venezuela. Furthermore, the U.S. has increased orders for this level of armament.
The dialogue concluded with an agreement to reconvene in two months to continue discussions on production strategies.
Trump also mentioned that applications for new factories are already being submitted across the country.
Regarding the capabilities of U.S. weaponry, the country possesses one of the most advanced arsenals globally, featuring systems that integrate artificial intelligence, satellite technology, stealth capabilities, and precision-guided munitions.
Included in the U.S. high-class weaponry are stealth bombers, which are nearly invisible to radar and can strike targets at long ranges without refueling, as well as fifth-generation fighters equipped with advanced sensors and data-sharing networks.
Additionally, the U.S. arsenal includes hypersonic weapons, precision bombs, and air and missile defense systems. However, challenges remain; U.S. officials, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegset, have acknowledged difficulties in countering Iranian drones, known as “Shaheds.” This has led the U.S. to seek assistance from Ukraine, with President Volodymyr Zelensky agreeing to support the Western ally.
