He called “an extremely sad moment in American history” the fact that the US President merged with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
“Let’s be frank: Trump shows us that one of the most violent dictators of the world considers our friend, and our ancient democratic allies in Europe – enemies. He wants such a world that is safe for authoritarian regimes and oligarchs, but very dangerous for democracies,” The senator remarked.
He also stated that “Trump lies how he often does” when he says that Ukraine has started the war.
“Trump said Ukraine began to war. It was not true. Russia invaded Ukraine twice: first in 2014, and then in 2022. Russia occupied almost 20% of Ukraine’s territory. After Putin’s terrible invasion of Putin was killed or injured”, ” Sanders said.

We are proud that the US is the oldest democracy in the world. Hundreds of thousands of Americans have fought and died for democracy for many years,” – said the senator.
He called on Americans regardless of political views to say “yes” democracy, “no” oligarchy and authoritarianism in “this critical moment” of history.
