Trump cannot press the switch and suddenly stop aid to Ukraine, - the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech RepublicLipavskyi predicted whether the USA will deprive Ukraine of aid / photo European UnionCurrently, no one knows whether US President-elect Donald Trump will stop aid to Ukraine. However, he will not do it suddenly.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavsky said this in London at a press conference after a meeting with his British counterpart David Lammy, Novinky reports.

“We know that (Donald Trump – UNIAN) will demand from Europe that it can take care of its own security. We do not know how the American aid to Ukraine will or will not continue. It will not be the case that Donald Trump can press the switch, and the next day, Ukraine will receive nothing at all,” said the chief Czech diplomat.

Still, Lipavsky is positive about it, even if the Republicans’ and Trump’s statements about Ukraine are vague.

“I personally remain an optimist. You always have to prepare for all scenarios, that’s why I say that Europe should invest more in defense. At the same time, when I look at what Donald Trump is saying about China, about Iran, about security in the Middle East , as he talks about North Korea, I would be surprised if Russia was not already included in this puzzle,” the minister added.

Separately, Lipavsky commented on Marco Rubio’s candidacy for the post of US Secretary of State. He considers this appointment positive for Europe.

Aid to Ukraine is under threat – what is knownGerman Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock called for an immediate increase in aid to Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin can take advantage of the transition period in the United States until Donald Trump becomes president. Berbok emphasized that Ukraine should be given everything that Europe can offer.

The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, says that Trump’s victory in the elections leads to the fact that the world is changing, and Europe needs to become stronger. According to him, the election of Trump will be an opportunity for Europe to wake up.
