For the first time, “transport visa waiver” was agreed in June 2022.

In this way, Ukrainian car carriers will continue to require special permits.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Community and Territories of Ukraine on Facebook, the decision was made possible due to the effective implementation and positive impact of the agreement on the economy of both parties, as well as effective monitoring of its implementation.
According to Viceremier-Minister for Recovery-Minister of Community Development and Territories Alexei Kuleba, thanks to “transport visa waiver” exports on roads to the European Union increased by 42%, and import by road to Ukraine by 37%.
“Transportation between Ukraine and the EU today is crucial for the economic stability of our country, because it is by roads that we export goods with added value and import the necessary goods. The most important thing is that the agreement has a positive impact on both parties,” Viceremier-Minister of Development of Ukraine stressed.
It is noted that for the first time “transport visa waiver” was agreed in June 2022. Traditionally, the deal is valid for one year. In June 2024, it was continued for the third time for another year – until June 2025.
The department noted that then one of the terms of the updated agreement was automatic prolongation by the end of 2025 in the absence of negative impact on the parties to the agreement and the absence of violations.
Trade between Ukraine and EUAccording to UNIAN, the European Commission completes the work on the future conditions of trade between Ukraine and the EU, which may be replaced by the current “trade visa”, which was introduced in June 2022 and envisaged a duty -free trade in Ukraine with the EU. The new decision on mutual trade between Ukraine and the EU should be made by June 5.
