According to the mayor himself, he is suspected of illegally crossing the border in August 2022, and the former mayor of Irpen, businessman Volodymyr Karpluk, wrote a statement to the DBR.“I left Ukraine for a few days to collect military aid, the Maviks, and stopped by for two days to see my son Mark, who was two years old. As a single parent, I have the right to go abroad without the Shlyah system. I I am raising my son alone, whose mother, unfortunately, died. And at that time he was in Italy as a refugee,” Markushyn explained.
The mayor added that Oleksandr Pashchynskyi, deputy of the Irpin city council, and Volodymyr Karpluk were also invited to his son’s birthday in Italy. That’s when, according to Markushin, “they filmed the “video evidence” of my terrible “crime”.
“So what is the crime? As Mark’s sole guardian (mother, my beloved wife Natalya, died a month after giving birth), I have the right to leave for my son without any additional permits, but I knew that I would return with help, so I registered officially.” Markushyn noted.
The mayor of Irpenya calls the investigation of the SBI a “custom case” and states that in this way Karpluk allegedly wants to at least temporarily remove him from his position “on the eve of a critically important session”, at which deputies should consider the issue of canceling the lease of land under illegal buildings, to which he is related Karpluk
Markushyn also invited everyone who wants to “see with their own eyes what the political order looks like in Ukraine” to his court (Pechersk District Court of Kyiv).
We will remind, in Irpen the city council plans to demolish the market and the residential complex of the former mayor Volodymyr Karplyuk, he is involved in a number of criminal proceedings and some of them are already under trial.
