Alexander Stubb urged to ignore the threats from Moscow on the format of security guarantees.

He stressed that the event should not take into account Russia, choosing a certain format of security guarantees for Ukraine, since Moscow will always oppose any real mechanisms of deterring its aggression.
“Safety guarantees are essentially a deterrent, and this restraining factor must be plausible, and in order for it to be plausible, it must be strong. We do not create safety in the air, but create real security guarantees, and Russia knows it,” Stubb said.
In his opinion, “American Bexpos” will be needed to provide real force guarantees, but today there is no complete understanding whether the Trump administration is ready to take real obligations.
The Finnish President also acknowledged that there is no signs at this time and that Putin is ready to sit at the negotiating table.
“This war is too great to lose it. It has made it probably the greatest strategic mistake in recent history, of course, since the end of the Cold War, and it has failed for all its strategic purposes. It is a matter when it sits at the negotiating table, I hope earlier than later, but now I said.”
