“We will not get the Tomahawks now, and the key word here is now. I consider this to be the sword of Damocles, which will hang directly over Putin. Therefore, in principle, the Tomahawks, even without being handed over to Ukraine, have already played their important role, forcing Putin to enter into negotiations,” the expert emphasized.
According to the political scientist, in fact, the US president is currently planning the next meeting with the Russian dictator, which should take place in Budapest, in line with what Ukraine sought, namely “to stop the war where it is.”
“Actually, the meeting between Zelenskyi and Trump, which lasted up to two and a half hours and lasted exactly as long as the conversation with Putin. Many said that it was only 45 minutes in the US president’s schedule, but it was during lunch. This just shows that in the current situation everything is going in the right direction,” Chalenko assured.

At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Trump has not yet said “yes” to us regarding the transfer of Tomahawks, but Putin is afraid of it. In addition, on the X platform, he added that he is counting on President Trump to “bring the end of this war closer.”
“Of course, we talked about long-range missiles. But the US does not want this escalation,” Zelensky also said after the meeting.
