The war in Ukraine may be “resolved” in the coming months, according to the chosen special envoy of the United States for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg. He made such a statement on the Fox channel on December 13.

Answering the question about whether Trump can invite the presidents of Ukraine and Russia to his inauguration, Kellogg did not rule out such a possibility.

“When it comes to Ukraine and Russia, I really believe that this can be resolved within the next few months. The only person who can do that is President Trump, and he will. They’re tired of killing each other out there,” Kellogg said.

He also said that he is considering visiting Ukraine and Russia, although he stressed that the president-elect’s administration does not currently have the authority to negotiate:

“We’re looking at some plans to go and just listen… Not to negotiate because we’re not part of the government yet, but to really listen to these people. We’re looking at the timetable in the near future to do this in the near term and have the right elements that we can present to President Trump so that President Trump can decide what he wants to do.”

On November 27, Donald Trump chose Keith Kellogg as his special representative for Ukraine and Russia. He noted that Kellogg served in important national security positions during his first term.

Kellogg, a retired Army lieutenant general who was Trump’s longtime top defense adviser, served as national security adviser to former Trump Vice President Mike Pence.

On November 13, the Fox News TV channel, with reference to sources, reported that in the administration of Donald Trump, after he takes office, the position of a special envoy for Ukraine will appear, who will take care of the negotiations aimed at ending the war on the part of the United States.
