The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported details about the current investigation into the murder of Andrei Portnov in Spain.
According to preliminary information, the attack was made by a group of persons / photo – UNIANThe murder of the former politician Andriy Portnov, who, during the expansion of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, held the position of first deputy head of the Presidential Administration and was considered a “Gray Cardinal”, investigates the murder group # 5 jointly with the Forensic Department of the Madrid Regional Directorate of the National Police of Spain. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
In particular, according to the Embassy of Ukraine in Spain, on May 21 in the morning in Posuelo de Alarkon, the province of Madrid, a citizen of Ukraine was killed.
“According to preliminary information of law enforcement agencies, the attack was carried out by a group of persons. Investigation is carried out by a group of murder # 5 together with the Forensic Division of the Madrid Regional Directorate of the National Police of Spain,” the Foreign Ministry noted.
At the same time, as of May 22, the detainees of the suspects in the case have not yet taken place.
“The embassy is in constant contact with law enforcement agencies and expects more information in response to an official request to the National Police of Spain. The case is under the control of the diploma,” the Foreign Ministry said.
The murder of Portnov is what is knownAs UNIAN reported, on May 21, the former politician Andrei Portnov took his two daughters to kindergarten and was going to sit in a black Mercedes when several attackers came to him and opened fire. Five shots were reported, at least three of which were hit by him. One of them was lethal – in the nape of the neck.
It is known that Portnov came to the great politics in 2006 as a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Bloc Yulia Tymoshenko. However, after the 2010 presidential election, he went to Viktor Yanukovych’s team.
In 2010, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, where he kicked the issues of judicial system and legal policy. In this role, he had a tremendous impact on the formation of the Judicial Corps, personnel appointments, as well as the policy of the Ministry of Justice and the judicial system as a whole.
