According to the report, the bureau’s employees completed the investigation of the criminal proceedings against the current People’s Deputy and his former assistant. The DBR does not name the parliamentarian, but the circumstances and the published photo point to Oleksandr Dubinsky.
“In August 2022, the People’s Deputy of Ukraine, in collusion with his former assistant, who currently works as the head of the Public Organization “MEDIA DEFENSE”, organized the illegal departure of his common-law wife’s brother abroad. A relative of the roommate of the elected official left Ukraine for the Republic of Moldova by car through one of the checkpoints,” the message reads.

The DBR adds that the reason for crossing the state border was the entry into the “Path” system of an extract from the order of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration on the departure of drivers carrying out transportation for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine outside of Ukraine.
In September 2024, the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine informed People’s Deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky, suspected of high treason, of the suspicion that he had repeatedly helped the brother of his common-law wife to illegally cross the border.
Dubinsky commented on the report of suspicion that NABU, according to his statement, is allegedly conducting two investigations against the leadership of the SBI.

Oleksandr Dubinsky was previously charged with two cases. In November 2023, the SBU reported that People’s Deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky was suspected of treason and involvement in a criminal organization. According to the investigation, he had the call sign “Buratino” and “was part of a criminal organization formed by the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (known as the GRU)” to “destabilize the socio-political situation in Ukraine and discredit the state in the international arena.”
Later, the court took him into custody, where he remains until now.
In 2023, Dubinsky was also suspected of traveling abroad based on false information. In addition, Ukrainian law enforcement officers suspect him of organizing a scheme for the illegal departure of men abroad. The deputy stated that the SBI served him with suspicion “for criticizing Yermak and Zelenskyi.”
