At the same time, Egede emphasized that Greenland is “working on a meeting where we can explain the position” of the country. He added that he hopes to begin talks with the Trump administration within days.
The politician noted that Greenland has already held several private conversations through “different channels” with different parties, but did not specify which ones.

Trump’s intentions regarding Greenland – what is knownEarlier, Donald Trump of the United States emphasized that the United States needs Greenland to fight against Russia and China. According to him, Denmark is not able to ensure proper control over the territory.
“Greenland is not only necessary for us, it is important for international security. Russian boats, Chinese warships – they are everywhere, and Denmark cannot control it,” – believes the new US president.
It also became known that the Prime Minister of Denmark spoke with Trump about Greenland. During the 45-minute conversation, Mette Frederiksen emphasized the importance of strengthening security in the Arctic, and that Denmark is ready to take on even greater responsibility for this.
